This course is an intense study of the pivotal
American films that chart the development of
theological, political, and social crises in
America. Starting with D.W. Griffith's (in)famous
"Birth of a Nation", we will explore some of
America's most successful, acclaimed and
controversial films and the racial, gender and
religious issues contained therein.
