Dr. Anna Novakov - Art History Dr. Novakov is a tenured Professor of Art History at Saint Mary’s College of California. She is also director of the Center for Creative Pedagogy, co-editor of Public Pedagogy Journal, and publisher of Skyline Art Press. Dr. Novakov holds a doctorate from New York University in Art History and Art Education. She has authored many articles and exhibition catalogues on the relationship between contemporary art, gender and modernist architecture. She is also author and editor of four academic books including Veiled Histories: The Body, Place and Public Art, Carnal Pleasures: Desire, Contemporary Art and Public Space, The Artistic Legacy of Le Corbusier’s Machine à Habiter, and the forthcoming Essays on Women’s Artistic and Cultural Contributions 1919-1939. In her recent teaching, she has examined the pedagogical possibilities of virtual architecture, web communities and service learning. Her scholarly research is currently focused on the history of women artists in Eastern Europe.
